What is a Cascade Profile?

A Cascade Profile allows you to route transactions to a cascade gateway in the event that transactions fail through the primary gateway set on a campaign. In order to set up your Cascade Profile, go to Payments > Cascade.   Click on the Actions drop-down and select  Add Cascade Profile, then select your currency. 

In this section, we are focusing on Cascade Profiles only, but we want you to know that you can also choose a different type of cascade profile called an Intelligent Cascade Profile. This type of profile will allow you to route transactions among several gateways based on specific conditions that you set. In order to set up your Intelligent Cascade Profile, go to Payments > Cascade.

Configuring a Cascade Profile

The following provides an explanation of fields to assist you with creating your cascade profile:

Name: Provide a name for your Cascade Profile.

Description: Provide a description for your Cascade Profile.

Initial Cascade Gateway: Select your initial cascade gateway from the list of available gateways. This is the secondary gateway that will be attempted if an initial transaction declines on your primary gateway.

Subscription Cascade Gateway: Select your subscription cascade gateway from the list of available gateways. This is the secondary gateway that will be attempted if a recurring transaction declines on your primary gateway.

Preserve Gateway: Select whether or not to preserve gateway subscriptions. If selected, then this will allow recurring transactions that are initially approved on the cascade gateway to be preserved on the cascade gateway.

*To remove the preservation on orders currently preserved to a cascade gateway, you have the option to remove the preserve from the cascade profile directly, or within Customers > Subscription Management.*

Gateways Assigned to this Profile: Please select your primary and cascade gateway from your list of available gateways. The primary gateway(s) will pertain to the gateway that is assigned to your campaign(s). Once a cascade gateway is selected from this list, it will no longer be available for selection as a primary gateway.
