Connecting Your Domain & Cloudflare Account to Sticky Checkout
In this article, we'll cover how to connect your Shopify Store & Cloudflare account to Sticky Checkout. This includes how to connect your Cloudflare Domain, creating the Shopify app necessary for the API Keys/Tokens.
Want to watch a video instead? I have you covered!
Without further ado, let's begin!
Navigating to Sticky Checkout & Connecting Your Domain
To begin, let's login to your Sticky.io Account. Once signed in, Services > Sticky Checkout.
You'll be redirected to a different part of Sticky.io. On the left-hand navigation menu, click Checkout > Domains > Add Domain.
A pop up window will appear, prompting you to choose Standalone or Shopify. This guide will cover Shopify > Next.
First things first, let's enter our Cloudflare API Token. After entering the token, click Connect.
Then click on Domain Name and choose your Cloudflare Domain.
Next is specifying your Subdomain. The subdomain is what customers will see when they're redirected from Shopify to Sticky Checkout.
Generally, you'd type 'Checkout' or 'Payments'. So the customer would see: e.g. payments.teststore.com or checkout.teststore.com.
Once you're satisifed with your subdomain, click Add Checkout Domain to proceed to the next step.
Connecting Sticky Checkout to Shopify
Next up, we'll tackle connecting Shopify to Sticky Checkout. This is a very involved process. Including fetching your Shopify Store URL, creating a Shopify Legacy App & fetching its respective keys. To recap;
Shopify Store URL
Shopify API Key
Shopify Webhook Signing Key
Finding Your Shopify Store URL
To find your Shopify Store URL, first login to your Shopify Account. Once logged in, search for "Domains".
While on the Domains page, the second row is your Shopify Store URL.
Navigate back to Sticky Checkout and paste the URL, or, paste it in a notepad since we'll be copying a few other fields momentarily.
Creating Your Shopify Developer App
Next is obtaining our Shopify Store API Key. Contrary to how you may be accustomed to grabbing API Keys, for Shopify, we'll achieve this by creating an App.
Just as a heads up, creating the app can be done in less than 60 seconds. But you will need to manually configure the API permissions and this can be tedious.
To begin, let's navigate over to Apps and Sales Channels > Develop Apps > Create an App.
A pop-up window will appear asking you to specify the App Name > Create App.
NOTE: The app name is internal - for cleanliness, we'd suggest Sticky Checkout.
Now that the Shopify App has been created, we'll need to do four things before we're finished:
Update the API Admin Scopes (This is tedious).
Update Storefront API Integration (This is also... tedious).
Install App
Copy API Values
Let's first tackle 1/4 of the steps and configure our Admin API Scopes. To do this, go back to Overview > Configure Admin API Scopes.
While on the Admin API Scopes screen - enable all API permissions. Once you click any of the 'write' APIs, the second will automatically be selected too.
Once done - click Save.
Next is 2/4 of the requirements. While on the same Configuration Page, scroll down and click Storefront API Integration > Configure.
Every single checkbox for Storefront API Integration needs to be enabled.
When you're done - click Save. Segueing into 3/4 of the steps and go back to the API Overview page. From here, we'll click Install App > Install.
And lastly, once the app is installed. You'll be taken to API Credentials. Rounding us out with 4/4 steps.
The API Token can only be revealed once. Much like your Cloudflare API Key, it is strongly advised to save it in a secure location.
And on the same page, the API Secret Key can be found below. We too will copy this to a safe and secure location.
This fulfills the 4 requirements for Sticky Checkout and we can jump ahead to the next part of our integration journey.
Adding Your Domain & Finishing Shopify Integration
And just like that, we're back to square one, back on Sticky Checkout. Let's go through and enter the Shopify Store URL > Shopify API Key > Shopify Webhook Signing Key > Connect.
Once you're done, click Connect.
You'll get a response indicating whether or not it was successful. And similarly, under Shopify Store Name, you'll see the name of your store.
If successful, you can proceed by clicking Next.
That covers the integration to Sticky Checkout! In the next article, we'll discuss creating a funnel that initiates the Shopify Product sync and the next steps to creating your landing pages.
