The sticky.io Platform has a few variations on Subscription Holds. The purpose of this document is to define the meaning and usage of these different hold types.

HOLD TYPES

Frequently Used HOLD Types

  • USER: This Hold type is used when a user that is logged into our Platform places an order/subscription on HOLD.

  • MERCHANT: This Hold type is used when an order/subscription is placed on

HOLD via our API’s by a verified and active API user account.

  • CHARGEBACK: This Hold type will be used when the subscription is placed on HOLD as a result of a Chargeback action.

  • DECLINE SALVAGE: This Hold type is used when an order exhausts all the Decline Manager attempts and is still a declined order. This Hold type will only be used for those clients with Decline Manager set up and active in our Platform.

  • SYSTEM: This Hold type is used when an ORDER qualifies for an automatic HOLD and the HOLD does not meet any of the other defined reasons in this document.

Special Circumstance HOLD Types

  • ACCOUNT UPDATER: This Hold type is used when it is returned from Account Updater when that service is attempting to update Credit Card information. This Hold type will only be in use for those clients with our Account Updater VAS turned on.

  • HARD DECLINE: This Hold type can occur one of two ways. The first way is to configure Hard Decline Rulesets within your Platform instance. The second way will only be used with specific Gateway Providers (Flex Pay, NMI or Fluid Pay) which have Hard Decline Rules coded into our integrations with these providers.

  • OFFER: This Hold type pertains specifically to Prepaid Offers. When setting up a PrePaid Offer the system requires the client to set a “terminate subscription at X” value. When that value passes the Subscription will be placed on an Offer HOLD.

  • INITIAL DUNNING: This Hold type will only be used when an Initial order exhausts its Smart Dunning Retries. For this Hold type the client must have the Smart Dunning VAS turned on.

  • COMPLETE: This Hold type will be used whenever a customer has received every product contained in the Collection Series Offer that they are subscribed to. This field is ONLY valid for Collection Series Offer Orders which will require a special activation from sticky.io’s end.

  • CANCEL: This Hold type will be used whenever a Collection Series Offer Subscription is Paused or Stopped. This field is ONLY valid for Collection Series Offer Orders which will require special activation from sticky.io’s end.
